Free museum day in LA

Few things are better than free entertainment, and luckily Los Angeles provided us with that this weekend with all of their museums being free on Saturday!

So we hopped in the car and cruised over the mountains to Santa Monica for our first stop, the Getty villa
Built by an oil billionaire to house his Greek art, it was a pretty cool place to your. My favorite part was the gardens and the outside area
I didn't take many pictures of the art, but there were a lot of Greek statues and vases.

Our second stop was to go to The Getty, which was built with the money left when the billionaire died. More Greek art. The architecture of the building and gardens is really what wowed me
And the views from the balcony
Naturally had to take lots of pictures in the sunset
It's a really cool museum and I wish we had more time there. It was a huge complex
This all built up quite the appetite, so we went to dinner at the original Bob's big boy for milkshakes and burgers
We got back to Bakersfield right before the rain started. It poured all night and all Sunday. The mountains around us all got blanketing in snow, which led to a very pretty Monday view from the office
