Off to Germany!

I might be quiet for a while as I'm off to Germany for 10 days!

It's getting hot

Getting a little toasty here....but luckily we know how to keep cool

San Fran music festival

Another weekend away as I travelled up to San Fransciso with my friend Kienuwa to a big alternative rock festival
It was a full day out in the sun seeing a lot of my favorite bands live
Luckily it was a perfect 70 degrees all day, and we explored the 5 stages and countless food trucks. The venue was super nice.

Going from 11am (after a 4 hour drive) to 11pm at a music festival was exhausting. So the next day we kept it easy and just explored the city a bit
I will definitely need to get back to San Fran for more exploring. It's a really cool city, although those hills are killer!

Dairy farm

The field trips of this week continue with a trip to one of the dairies that provide the milk for our ice cream
The dairy had a 3700 cow dairy herd of mainly Jersey cows with some Holsteins thrown in.
Naturally my favorite was the babies
It's fun seeing where all our ingredients come from! And there is so much to learn about how farms really are, and not what scary documentaries want you to think.

Strawberry fields

Today at work we literally took a field trip out to Oxnard, California to look at our strawberry vendors crop.
They are the biggest strawberry farmers in the state boasting 900 acres of just juicy, red strawberries
The best part? It was all you can eat out in the fields. We sampled a few different varieties, including an experimental new variety that is bigger, juicer and sweeter then the current variety.
We also toured their processing plant which was still pretty cool, but mostly all I'll remember from today was eating those fresh off the vine, sun warmed berries. And the massive stomachache I had at the end of the day
